For All Signs: July
21 -- July 27, 2010
Saturn, ruler of the status quo and the "rules", is in dramatic tension with Uranus, planet of change and even rebellion. These are powerhouse planets with diametrically opposed energies. The resulting stress has been building since 2008 and the last opposition between the two occurs this week. Each of us has struggled with the tightrope between the need for change, making the break for freedom, and our desire to maintain worldly security. The ideal solution is one that generates a creative alteration without totally annihilating stability. Most have opted for security during this period, but Saturn is moving away from the tension now. This implies we are right on the brink of declaring liberty from that which has kept us bound by fear. Search for ways to make changes consciously or they might sneak in the back door and take you by surprise. I can't help but present a copy of my paragraph from May 12: "(5-12-10) The
gushing oil in
the Gulf of Mexico is a catastrophe indeed. Astrologically this
travesty is represented by the inconjunction (a miserable aspect)
between Saturn and Neptune. I wrote about this aspect two weeks
ago (April 28) when it was exact in the sky. Saturn rules hard
reality and
situations that won't budge or move out of the way, among other
things. Neptune rules the Sea and all that is in or below
it. It also rules hidden places, under the earth, therefore oil
regardless of its location. Astrologically this aspect will
not finish until the middle of July. That leads me to propose
there won't be even a mini-solution until the end of that month or
beyond."
(7-20-10) So now it appears we have a mini-solution. Halleleujah! ____________________________________ Seasonal
Story: Cosmic Message
The message in the sky calls us to break from living out the tired old dramas. If we are to save our world we need to change paradigms. Taking revenge for past wrongs is not a cool thing to do. Neither is acting out the same old creaking stories of the battle between the sexes, or letting warriors rule the planet just because they are louder than peacemakers. Any thinking person would have to agree that continuing our warring history in the same way will not accomplish anything better than what we've got: a circus of a world that is trapped in constant replay. Each of us can choose a better option for whatever is happening personally. We do not have to be in replay mode forever. If you can think of nothing new or better to do about an issue, hold the question in mind before you go to sleep and ask for the answer. A fresh and improved version of dealing will be "there" for evaluation in the morning. If we simply refuse to play the same old tapes, the mind will come up with a better solution. Seasonal Story: Class "wars"?
(Update 5-11-10) I'd have to comment that the riots in Greece certainly resemble "class wars" in my book. (Addition 4-12-10) The news today reported the arrest of two men by the FBI. They were in Michigan, where , there are reported to be many militia groups. The two men led a particularly forceful group, and had the hope of being the matchstick to rally all the others against the government. I can't help but wonder if this example is one of many "class wars" that are stirring the pot. (Revised, 2-8-10) 1-25-10 Uranus and Pluto will be squaring multiple times between 2012 and 2015. At this time they are within orb and the energies are beginning to show. I sense that will represent "class wars." I have wondered what a class war would look like in this country. I believe we are seeing the front end of the struggle between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots' already. The general public in recent decades has had some kind of hope of moving to higher stature. That is why we have not made a stand against the ongoing ruling, wealthy class. Maybe one or two of us could get there in such a fine capitalist economy. But what I see now is that the chips are stacking up heavily against that possibility. For one thing, the middle class is vanishing. It has been decreasing rapidly for a decade. Each recession has been followed by a "jobless recovery," as it appears this one is too. I observe that the bankers, et al, are moving quickly to fight President Obama's call to responsibility for the financial industry and Wall Street. I think it is warranted that the financial institutions essentially insure themselves against future collapse rather than expecting the US public to pick them up. I see that the Supreme Court declares that corporations are people too, and thus entitled to the rights granted by the First Amendment. I am thoroughly shocked that the Supreme Court made such a theoretical ruling, ignoring the very real and practical consequences of this decision. Personally, I do not perceive corporations as "people." The individuals in corporations already have their personal right to the First Amendment. I am no lawyer, but I believe that should be quite enough "rights". It feels a lot like allowing certain people multiple votes on political issues, if they can pay big enough bucks for it. For those who are unaware, last week's Supreme Court decision fell right into a major 10 year plan of one James Bopp, Jr., an attorney from the far right. The next step in his plan is to press the Supreme Court to allow campaign contributions in any amount, and with total secrecy. H1N1 story.

Story: Gulf of Mexico, Oil Horror
(5-12-10) The
gushing oil in
the Gulf of Mexico is a catastrophe indeed.
That leads me to propose
there won't be even a mini-solution until the end of that month or
beyond.
Because of the symbolism of Saturn and Neptune, I have become convinced that the origin of the problem is somehow tied to the concrete part(s) of the shaft. Apparently there was not enough care given to make certain the concrete would withstand the pressure of the ocean. It is even possible that concrete won't harden properly at such depths. An angry god of the sea (Neptune) overwhelmed the man-made creation. I find it enormously interesting that very shortly after President Obama said we would open the US to offshore drilling, we received this very clear message from Mother Earth. What it says to me is: DON'T DO IT! General Investment Picture:
(5-10-10) Mercury
retrograde certainly produced a caboodle of troubles last week.
Because of the retrograde, I believe the sudden drop was a result of an
accidental sequence of mistakes.
Update: 5-3-10 Well, the world has apparently made it past the latest Greek crisis. I hope the bailout stems the tide. We still have a really challenging summer's full of planetary aspects ahead that affect the world at large. I'm holding my breath on the topic of the European Union. Update 3-29-10: A quote from today's Bloomberg Business Week, authors Kennedy, Magnusson, and Benetti-Valentini: "For months the top leaders of
the European Union resisted the idea of a bailout for Greece, wringing
their hands over the estimated $61 billion cost. While the jawboning
continued, the infection took hold. Bond vigilantes drove the Greeks'
borrowing costs into the double digits. Investors, fearing a contagion
in Europe's southern tier, dumped the stocks and bonds of Portugal and
Spain. As it spread, markets started to pummel European banks and
insurers for their exposure to what could prove to be one of the worst
sovereign debt disasters ever. A bank crisis and a debt crisis rolled
into one—the medical bills for this extreme case will make Europe long
for the modest $61 billion of just a few weeks past. "
The closer we get to June 8, the more likely it is that this issue
could seriously tip the house of economic cards in the world.
Planetary alignment suggests explosions in a variety of ways during
June. See note just below .Update 3-1-10: Since the Saturn/Pluto square (see below) began, I am aware of two potential economy disasters that have been averted (at least to the present time). The Dubai event of Dec. '09 might have been the card that tipped over everything. And more recently the ailing condition of Greece had even bigger potential. As of today, the EU is expected to find a way to bail out Greece before it topples and drops other European governments in its wake. It represents a narrow miss, assuming the EU finds a way to come through. There will be one more Saturn/Pluto square in August '10. I hope we get through that one. Update 11-30-09: The first square of Saturn to Pluto was on Nov. 15. This begins a dramatic period of one year in which there is incredible stress and tension in the world related to huge corporations, institutions, and governments. Those which do not pass muster will topple. Then the dependent corporations may also fall. Today it may look like the stock market is recovering, but I cannot believe it when I review the planetary arrangements for the year of 2010. Nothing in particular happened on Nov. 15, but on Nov. 25 the Dubai debacle became headline news. Probably it was near the 15th when the Inner Circle realized their dilemma and determined what they must do. Dubai's troubles are the first of the commercial real estate issues that are revealed. The next square of Saturn to Pluto will be on Jan. 31. The house of cards may fall pretty quickly between now and end March, 2010. Avoid buying real estate as there is likely to be another steep slope of land/home/commercial values. Stocks are questionable unless you know what you are doing and born truly "lucky". Cash may be the best alternative. 2-22-10 Removed "positive interpretive measurements/ improved economy?" story of 11-23 -09. Update 11-1-09: A major planetary development of the last quarter '09 is that Saturn begins a two year square to Pluto in November. In the spring Uranus completes the T square and nobody will be getting along with anyone else globally. This does not augur good fortune in the global market or anywhere else, for that matter. People and governments are likely to dig their trenches and refuse to negotiate seriously. Nobody will like anybody else. There are challenging astrological aspects throughout the fall and 2010 that warrant considerable caution, to my way of thinking. Dumping money into banks does not seem to have helped the public. Wall Street operations have barely blinked. The FDIC has many more banks to close and meanwhile, the Federal Reserve is printing money to pay for it. The real impact of the commercial real estate collapse has barely been noted yet. I never claimed to be an economist, but I could be more optimistic if some of the fundamentals were more cheerful.
